We are the Wirelings!
Abraham Benson-Goldberg |
Producing Artistic Director Abraham is a director passionate about making theatre new! Located outside of Tel Aviv, he's made theatre across the US and Israel. Abraham's work explores the intersections of immersive, site-specific, and “traditional” modes, including: a two person meditation on mortality in a cardboard map shop; a 42-child romp down the yellow brick basketball court; and an outdoor hour-long Trojan War with barbecue. Abraham is excited to explore how we make digital native theatre. The Wirelings is his biggest project yet, and he’s glad you’re here. Maya Sugarman |
Ensemble Member Maya is thrilled to be part of the Wirelings! Originally from Seattle, after graduating from Harvard, Maya was fortunate to perform throughout the Northwest, including at ACT Theatre, Portland Center Stage, Seattle Shakespeare Company, New Century Theatre Company, Island Shakespeare Festival, and Strawberry Theatre Workshop. Maya is currently earning her MBA, and has a major sweet tooth. Maya joined the Wirelings after appearing in both pre-ensemble experiments: Philocetetes (Neoptolemus) and The Philosophy of Cavemen (Tad). She is the inventor of the digital screen-hug. Kelby Siddons |
Artistic Advisory Board Kelby Siddons is an actress, playwright, educator, director, and more! Managing Director of Jacksonville's PhaseEight Theatre, Kelby joins the Wirelings as an Artistic Advisory Board member after participating in the first pre-ensemble experiment, Philoctetes. An alumna of Northwestern University, Kelby has had her plays performed professionally across the United States. She is excited for the opportunities that this new form of theatre has to offer, and the challenges it presents to the continuation of traditional theatre methods. |
Ray Rehberg |
Ensemble Member & Sound Design Ray is an actor, musician, composer, and auto mechanic from Swarthmore, PA who is based in Los Angeles. A graduate of Northwestern University, Ray spent a decade in Chicago developing his various crafts - as a student at the Green Room Studio and Acting Studio Chicago, an ensemble member at Redmoon Theater and (re)discover Theatre, and a proud member of the on-camera and theatre rosters at Big Mouth Talent. Ray joined the Wirelings after appearing in both pre-ensemble experiments: Philoctetes (Philoctetes) and The Philosophy of Cavemen (Winston), for which he also wrote original music. Or Neumann |
Scenic & Graphic Design Or is a designer, handyman, gardener, and baker from a town called Net, where he has lived his whole life. In partnership with Abraham he has designed costumes and scenery for multiple productions--Lonely Planet, Mowgli&Bagheera&Baloo, and Antigone. Or is a recent graduate of the Tel Aviv University program for design for screen and stage, and eager to take his next steps in the wide world outside of academia. For the Wirelings, Or has contributed design and construction on every experiment thus far. Ramón Esquivel |
Artistic Advisory Board Ramón Esquivel is a playwright, dramaturg and educator. His plays for young audiences have been performed across the globe! Assistant Professor of Theatre and Playwriting at CalPoly in San Luis Obispo, Ramon holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, an MA in Educational Theatre from NYU, and a BA in History from Yale. An advocate of original storytelling, Ramon comes to the Wirelings as an Artistic Advisory Board member to serve as a voice of reason, wisdom, and experience. We are grateful to have him, and hope you get to know him! Thor Rudebeck |
Marketing Thor Rudebeck is a screenwriter, musician, and ad man with roots in the Midwest and a degree from Northwestern University. His (comically bad) play Angels in Afghanistan: A Gay Muslimist Fantasia took 2nd place at Stage Left Theatre’s DrekFest 2017. Thor joins the Wirelings as a collaborator and marketing guru: he’s terrifically excited to use his skills to bring experimental digital theatre to new audiences. When he’s not doing that, he’s probably cycling. He lives in Chicago. |
